Change of command Parade on the 8th of May 2005. After 8 long years, I am shocked, surprised to see that I am (a) finally going on parade, (b) going to be in a guard, (c) going to be the guard commander, (d) going to displace other infantry officers in doing so. I think my drill was actually quite okay. I was so thrilled that I was ready to buy Number 2 guard a round of drink since we didn't barely have to move, unless Number 1 guard which was all over the place after the march back across the parade square from the "Advance in review order". I basically stood still during the right dress. Amazing.
